Blackberry Smash
The days are getting shorter and the holiday season is finally here! To celebrate, I wanted to mix up a stylish yet still simple cocktail, the Blackberry Smash.
Even with its rich color tones, this cocktail is still light and refreshing, making it pair perfectly with rich appetizers and holiday dinners. It’s so easy to create, yet it’ll impress even your most distinguished guests!
This cocktail requires little effort and can be easily made in large batches to serve at a party.
So let’s get to it!
What You’ll Need to Make A Blackberry Smash
For One Serving
- 8 Blackberries
- Juice of 1/2 a Lemon
- 3 Rosemary Sprigs
- 1 Tbs of Honey
- 2 oz of Tequila
- 1 oz of Cointreau
- Splash of San Pellegrino
- Ice
How To Make It
In a cocktail mixer, add your blackberries and muddle until it becomes mostly liquid. If you don’t have a muddler, the easiest way to do this is with a wooden spoon.
Then add in the lemon juice, two rosemary sprigs, honey, tequila, and Cointreau.
Muddle again to release the oils of the rosemary and help the lemon juice break down the blackberries even more.
Add in the ice and securely place the lid on the cocktail shaker. Shake for 30 seconds. Pour up your Blackberry Smash over ice and add a splash of San Pellegrino for a touch of fizz.
I’ve always felt that the simpler the garnish, the better. I’ve fallen for these bamboo skewers because they make garnishing cocktails almost too easy!
I just pushed a single blackberry through the skewer and dropped in a rosemary sprig before serving.
l love the sophisticated deep red color the Blackberry Smash gives! It makes it perfect for the holiday season and it’s so fast to mix up for a crowd.
Cheers,
