Honey & Thyme Margarita
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know that I love a good margarita recipe! While making a casual family dinner, I saw that I had a grapefruit juice that needed to be used. So I quickly made up this Honey & Thyme Margarita and thought it was definitely worth sharing with y’all!
This margarita is simple, calling for all the basic necessities to make a margarita, with the exception of grapefruit juice, honey, and thyme sprigs.
This cocktail can be served year round, but I think it would be an exceptional one to have for a holiday party!
This recipe can be easily tripled, quadrupled, etc. so you can make it in a batch to have for your guests.
So let’s get to it!
What You’ll Need to Make A Honey & Thyme Margarita
For One Serving
- 1/4 Cup of Grapefruit Juice
- Juice of 1/2 a Lime
- 2 oz of Tequila
- 1 oz of Cointreau
- 1 Tbs. Honey
- Sprigs of Fresh Thyme Leaves
- Kosher Salt
- Lime Zest
- Ice
How To Make It
Place the first six ingredients into a cocktail shaker full of ice. Securely place the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake for 30 seconds.
In a bowl, add kosher salt and fresh lime zest. Wet the rim of your cocktail glass with a lime wedge and coat the rim in the salt and lime zest mixture, creating a salted rim.
Fill your cocktail glass with ice and pour up your margarita. Garnish with a lime wedge and some fresh thyme leaves. I got these cute bamboo skewers and they make garnishing so easy while still being sophisticated. They can also opt as grabbers for your appetizers!
I hope you enjoy this Honey & Thyme Margarita as much as Momma and I did last night for dinner! They’ll definitely be on our rotation list for favorite family cocktails!
Cheers,
