Fig and Honey Prosecco Smash

This Fig and Honey Prosecco Smash is a fantastic fall cocktail! With gorgeous dark figs, sprigs of fresh thyme, and bubbly Prosecco, it’s a perfect drink for any fall occasion!

I did a little research on the history of the smash cocktail’s origins and the guidelines of creating one. Turns out, it’s a pretty open-minded and flexible concept! It’s basically just muddling seasonal fruit, sugar, the liquor of your choosing, and shaking it with some ice before pouring up.

So let’s get to it!

What You’ll Need To Make A Fig and Honey Prosecco Smash

for one serving

  • 3 figs
  • 1 plum
  • 1 oz elderflower liquor
  • 3/4 oz of lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz of thyme honey simple syrup
  • 1.5 oz of gin (optional)
  • splash of Prosecco

How To Make It

In a cocktail shaker, add your chopped figs and plums. Then pour in the lemon juice, elderflower liqueur, gin (if using), and thyme honey simple syrup (which you can find in my free simple syrup e-book). Muddle until the fruits have well broken down. It takes a few minutes but it’s well worth it.

Then, I strain the fig and plum smash mixture before adding ice to shake. The flesh of the figs isn’t the most appetizing to sip on so I make sure to strain it all before shaking.

Strain the smash mixture into your coupe glass, filling about halfway. Fill the rest with chilled Prosecco and garnish with a fig and fresh thyme.
