Autumn Spiced Simple Syrup

This Autumn spiced simple syrup recipe is a subtle and flavorful way to welcome the fall season! With the classic spices of fall, this delicious simple syrup is perfect to add to your morning cup of coffee or to flavor your favorite autumn cocktails.

Even though it’s still very warm and humid down here in Florida, there’s that fun anticipation of when the “fall season” will finally arrive! Even if I can’t enjoy a crisp autumn morning just yet, I can enjoy all the fall flavors in my well air-conditioned kitchen for a similar effect!

So let’s get to it!

What You’ll Need To Make Autumn Spiced Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup honey or sugar
  • 5 to 7 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 2 inches of ginger, sliced

How To Make It

Add ingredients to a small saucepan over low/medium heat and stir occasionally. The syrup should begin to start simmering after about 5-7 minutes. As soon as it starts to simmer, take the pan off the heat and let the syrup cool for at least 15 minutes. Then, you’ll want to strain the syrup into a measuring cup for easy transferring.

I love to use these Crew barware syrup bottles to serve and store my simple syrups! The bottom of the bottle can actually be unscrewed for easy pouring and cleaning. These can keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks so you can easily make these ahead of time.

I love using this Autumn spiced simple syrup for my Sparkling Spiced Pear cocktails (which I’ll be serving for Thanksgiving) and these Spiced Pear Martinis that we sipped on our most recent cocktail walk! It’s also great to pair with your favorite bourbon cocktails or for an autumn inspired bee’s knees.

Cheers Y’all,
