French Martini
This gorgeous French Martini has honestly changed my perspective on martinis in general. It’s slightly sweet yet perfectly balanced. I used to think of martinis as an unapproachable cocktail that could only be sipped by elitist sippers that love the burn of alcohol.
I think that still might be the case for those that order the classic martini, but this gal is still trying to work her way up. For now, I’ll happily sip on this four ingredient martini that has the most gorgeous hue. My fairy godmother is the one who introduced me to this libation and thank God for her, because it’s delicious.
So let’s get to it!

What You’ll Need to Make the French Martini
for one serving
- 2 oz vodka or gin
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz pineapple juice
- 3/4 oz raspberry liqueur or chambord

How to Make It
Add everything to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously for at least ten seconds (we’re trying to create the foam here) before straining into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with fresh raspberries and enjoy!
You could use a simple raspberry liqueur or you could use chambord (if you want to be boujee). Chambord is a French black raspberry liqueur that has some very sophisticated and complex notes that really enhance your French martini. It’s what’s called for when you find the recipe in a bartender’s book but since it’s homemade, it’s totally up to you.
I won’t sit here and pretend that chambord is what you need to be able to enjoy a French martini at home because that’s not the truth. Is it the “correct” way to make a French martini? Perhaps. Depending on who you ask. But I (or any good friend of yours) is not going to turn their nose up if chambord isn’t included in your liquor cabinet. If they do, they know where the front door can be found.
