The Fig Bee’s Knees Cocktail
One great cocktail that I don’t think gets enough recognition is the classic bee’s knees. It’s so versatile and has a short (but flavorful) ingredient list, making the bee’s knees easy to enjoy at home year round! This Fig Bee’s Knees cocktail recipe happens to be one of my favorites!
This year didn’t bear a great fig season so fresh figs were pretty difficult to find, which is SO sad because this gal love’s her figs. However, if you ever find yourself in such a bind, jams are the perfect replacement for any seasonal fruit. Whether you’re craving figs when they’re out of season or it just wasn’t a great season, using a high quality fig jam makes the perfect replacement for cocktails!
So let’s get to it!

How To Make a Fig Bee’s Knees
- Prepare the Glass: Begin by chilling a coupe glass in the freezer. A frosted glass not only looks elegant but also keeps your cocktail wonderfully cold.
- Combine the Base Ingredients: To the shaker, add the fig jam, gin, thyme honey syrup, and lemon juice.
- Shake it Up: Seal the shaker and give it a vigorous shake, ensuring the fig jam is well incorporated into the mix. Once the jam is well broken down, and ice and shake again for another 10 seconds till throughly chilled.
- Strain into the Glass: Once shaken, strain the luscious mixture into your chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish: Finish off your cocktail by garnishing with a sliced fig half on the rim and a thyme sprig.
