Bridgerton Season 4 Cocktails: Elegant Drinks Inspired by Benedict and Sophie

In honor of my favorite Bridgerton book (and the long-awaited season), I’ve created these two Bridgerton Season 4 cocktails as a nod to these two beloved characters. Inspired by Benedict and Sophie’s quiet romance, creative spirit, and the undeniable pull towards each other, these two cocktails were created for slow evenings…possibly in a cottage and away from the eyes of the ton.

There’s just something so wonderfully appealing about their love story. There’s a deep, relatable pull between balancing creativity and fantasy with expectations, and finding the courage to make it work in our lives. I wanted these drinks to reflect that same balance. Elegant but unfussy, each cocktail is designed to be made slowly and enjoyed without distraction, the kind of small ritual that pairs naturally with a quiet night at home and binge-watching Bridgerton.

So let’s get to it!

Bridgerton Season 4 Cocktails:

The Tortured Artist

Bridgerton Season 4 Cocktails: tortured artist

This brandy greyhound isn’t meant to be obvious. Like Benedict, it’s filled with unexpectedly deep layers that take time and patience to fully understand. It’s warm and grounded, with just enough bitterness to make you pause between sips. This is something you pour in candlelight, when the room is quiet, and your thoughts are anything but. The brandy gives it masculine depth and a sense of history, while the grapefruit sharpens the edges, and a touch of bitterness softens into something unexpectedly smooth. It’s the kind of cocktail you enjoy unhurried, and continues to become better the longer you sit with it…just like a work of art.

What You’ll Need to Make the Tortured Artist

  • 3 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 2 oz brandy
  • 3/4 oz elderflower liqueur
  • 2 to 3 dashes of orange bitters

For an extra layer of flavor, after halving two grapefuits, I seared them in a cast iron grill pan until slightly charred (totally optional but recommended, we are making the tortured artist after all). Add all ingredients to a cocktail mixing glass with ice and stir until mixed and chilled. Strain into a small tumbler with a large ice cube and garnish with a wedge of grapefruit.

The Lady in Silver

Bridgerton Season 4 Cocktails: lady in silver

Like the French 77, Sophie is quietly sophisticated, feminine, and understated in the best way. Her character feels familiar at first, but there’s something a little softer about it. There’s less sparkle for the sake of it, yet with more intention. It’s bright without being sharp, elegant without trying to impress, and the kind of cocktail that feels perfectly at home in a pretty glass, even if no one else is watching. This is the drink you make when you want something refined and familiar all at once, the kind that gently lifts the evening rather than stealing the attention.

Sophie is one of my favorite characters of the entire series, and I think she will soon become everyone else’s as well. She’s such a relatable character who can’t help but dream, yet has a firm understanding of the world, doing her best to protect her heart as well as her principles.

What You’ll Need to Make the Lady in Silver

  • 2 oz gin
  • 3/4 oz elderflower liqueur
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 3-4 oz champagne

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the gin, elderflower liqueur, and lemon juice. Shake vigorously until well-chilled and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Top with champagne and add a few edible rose petals for garnish (this is Bridgerton after all) and enjoy.
