Blood Orange Margarita
I whipped up this incredibly easy and delicious Blood Orange Margarita recipe just over a year ago and remember it being the first time I ever tried blood oranges! If you’ve never had a blood orange, it’s a sweeter cousin of the oranges we all know and love! I absolutely love them and you can always find my fruit bowl stacked with blood oranges during peak season!

With freshly squeezed citrus and aromatic honey rosemary simple syrup, this blood orange margarita is simple enough to batch for a crowd or to enjoy yourself while making dinner. The gorgeous blood red hue from the oranges makes working with this citrus my absolute favorite of all time.
Blood Orange season here in Florida hits its peak from late December to March or April so these are definitely a winter staple in our house! Plus, since the temperature can vary so much here, this cocktail pairs perfectly to a hot or cold winter day!
So let’s get to it!
What You’ll Need To Make a Blood Orange Margarita:
For 2 servings
- Juice of about 6 Blood Oranges (1 cup)
- Juice of 1 Lime
- 4 oz of Silver Tequila
- 1 oz of triple sec (Cointreau is my favorite)
- 1 oz of honey rosemary simple syrup
How to Make It
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the top 5 ingredients. Secure the shaker top and shake vigorously for at least 10 seconds. All we want to do is mix and thoroughly chill our margarita.
Rim a glass with the juice of either a blood orange or lime wedge and coat with kosher salt. Add ice then pour the margarita over. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and a blood orange wheel and enjoy!
