Gourmet BLT Sandwich
Like any Southerner, I LOVE a classic BLT sandwich! But sometimes, I like to kick things up a notch. That’s when I created this Gourmet BLT Sandwich recipe!
What’s so gourmet about it you ask? Well, for starters, it has a delicious basil mayo spread and two layers of provolone cheese. It’s so good that it’ll probably be the only way you’ll eat BLT’s from now on!
It’s still a really simple sandwich to make, you’ll just need a food processor or blender to create the mayo spread.
What You’ll Need to Make the Gourmet BLT Sandwich
For Two Servings
- 6 pieces of Bacon
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 2 Tbs of Mayonnaise
- 2 handfuls of the Greens of your choice
- 8 Basil Leaves
- 2 Campari Tomatoes
- 4 Slices of Provolone Cheese
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 4 pieces of Toast
How to Make It
Place your bacon in a medium heat skillet and cook until bacon is done and crispy. Place onto a plate with paper towels to soak up extra bacon grease.
In a food processor, add your mayonnaise, garlic cloves, basil, salt, and pepper and blend until everything is well incorporated.
You could also mix up the spread in a bowl, just make sure your garlic is finely minced and your basil is julienned beforehand.
Time to build your BLT! I love to put a piece of provolone cheese on both the top and bottom of the sandwich! I obviously forgot to while grabbing photos for this blog post (oops!).
This gourmet BLT sandwich makes a great weekend breakfast or a casual brunch option! If serving for brunch, I would cut the sandwiches into squares and place toothpicks in the middle for easy serving!
