Strawberry Champagne Margarita
We’re in peak strawberry season here in Florida and it’s one of my favorite times of the year! After a long winter, it’s such a nice change to see the spring produce starting to make its way! So to celebrate, I whipped up this strawberry champagne margarita recipe to kick things off!
Chris and I love to take full advantage as Floridians and go pick fresh produce at our local Florida farms! It’s such a fun date idea to enjoy the outdoors and get your hands on the freshest fruit Florida has to offer! We went early Sunday morning (before the heat and humidity showed up) and picked almost 10 pounds of fresh strawberries! Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a well deserved brunch and enjoyed the gorgeous spring weather.
I had so much fun creating this strawberry champagne margarita because it’s a small but fun twist on a classic, which I love! The champagne gives a nice touch of bubbles to spritz up your afternoon happy hour or it’d be perfect to serve for brunch!
So let’s get to it!
What You’ll Need To Make a Strawberry
Champagne Margarita
for one serving
- 1/4 cup strawberry purée
- 1.5 oz blanco tequila
- 0.5 oz triple sec
- .75 oz honey
- .75 oz lime juice
- splash of champagne or prosseco to finish
How To Make It
Add the top five ingredients to a cocktail shaker with no ice (or a blender for a crowd) and shake until everything is well incorporated. We’re not adding ice to make sure that the honey gets mixed and doesn’t solidify. Once your margarita is ready, it’s time to prep your margarita glass. Carefully squeeze honey on the rim and generously sprinkle kosher salt to create a delicious honey salt rim! Here’s a video of how I make mine!
Add ice to your glass and pour up your strawberry margarita. Top off with your favorite champagne and enjoy!
For the strawberry purée, it’s the easiest thing to make but it gives so much great strawberry flavor! All you need is a food processor or a blender, strawberries, lemon juice, and a little water!
- 6-8 strawberries, washed and trimmed
- juice of 1/2 a lemon
- about 1/4 cup of water
Add everything to your blender or food processor and purée until smooth. If your purée is a little too thick or clumpy, slowly add water to smooth it out. To store, pour your strawberry purée in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to a week. This recipe will give you around two servings for the cocktail recipe, so you can easily batch this recipe ahead of time for a party!
