Strawberry Hibiscus Margarita
Summer is officially here and I’m always trying to find new flavors to deliver a new spin on a classic. This strawberry hibiscus margarita is a fun (and slightly sweet) take on a classic summer cocktail. At least in Florida, it’s hard to imagine summer without strawberries and hibiscus overflowing, and they make a delicious pair together!
With an easy delicious homemade hibiscus honey syrup, fresh strawberries, and the classic margarita ingredients, this Strawberry Hibiscus Margarita will surely soon become your next summer happy hour go to!
So let’s get to it!

What You’ll Need to Make a Strawberry Hibiscus Margarita
for one serving
– 4 strawberries, stemmed and sliced
– 1.5 oz tequila
– 1 oz lime juice
– 1 oz hibiscus honey syrup
– 3/4 oz Cointreau

How To Make It
Add the first three ingredients to a glass and muddle. Strain and pour into a cocktail shaker along with the hibiscus honey syrup and Cointreau. Add ice and shake before straining into a salt rimmed glass filled with ice.
I added some dried hibiscus (here’s the one I use) to my salt rim for a little extra color and garnished with a sliced strawberry.
Hibiscus Honey Syrup
– 1 tbs dried hibiscus
– 1 cup water
– 1 cup honey
Simmer on medium low heat for about 10 minutes or until honey has fully melted and just as the syrup begins a soft simmer.
Take off heat and let steep until cooled thoroughly before bottling up. Keeps in the fridge for about 3-4 weeks. These syrup bottles from Crew Barware are a MUST if you love to make your own syrups and infusions!

For the rim, I crushed some of the dried hibiscus leaves and mixed them together with salt. Then, you only just need to wet the rim of your glass with lime juice before rolling on the hibiscus salt mix. It’s totally optional but I love the extra color and texture it gives!
