5 Cocktails To Try This Summer
Peach Aperol Margarita
This aperol peach margarita is a fun Italian twist on the classic margarita! With a salt lime rim and peachy hot honey, this is definitely my summer dream margarita.
for one serving
– 1 peach, sliced
– 3/4 oz lime juice
– 1.5 oz tequila
– 1/2 oz triple sec
– 1 oz aperol
– 1/2 oz peach hot honey
– fresh mint or basil, for garnish
Add all ingredients to a shaker and muddle until the peaches are broken down. Dry shake (no ice) for about ten seconds so the hot honey gets well mixed. Pour up your Peach Aperol Margarita in a glass full of ice and garnish with a peach slice and mint or basil.
Coastal Grandmother Cocktail
This cocktail is the one I imagine myself classically sipping on at my beach cottage in a Nancy Meyer’s film. Filled with all my favorites, she’ll probably be making a few appearances on my summer afternoon cocktail strolls with mom.
– 2 oz reposado tequila
– 1.5 oz lemon juice
– 4 basil leaves, torn
– 3/4 oz elderflower liqueur
– 3/4 oz agave
– dash of orange bitters
Muddle all ingredients together in a glass (rattan glasses linked here) and fill with crushed ice. Garnish with lemon slices and a sprig of basil and enjoy!
Peach Bourbon Mules
I will not apologize for having two peach cocktails on this summer list, and after you try this frozen peach bourbon mule, you’ll be glad it made the final cut!
for two servings
- 2 yellow peaches, pitted and sliced
- 3 oz bourbon
- 1 oz lemon or lime juice
- 6 oz ginger beer
- 6-8 mint leaves
- 1 cup ice
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high. If you want more of a frozen mule, add in 1/2 cup increments until you get the desired consistency. Pour into a Moscow mule mug and garnish with a peach slice and sprig of mint. Recipe can be doubled.
Gin & Elderflower Smash
This Gin and Elderflower Smash is the cocktail recipe that proves that “the simpler, the better” vibes is the best way to enjoy the summer season.
for one serving
- 1.5 oz gin
- 1 oz elderflower liqueur
- 2 oz lemon juice
- 3/4 oz honey syrup
- 3 dashes of bitters
- 4-6 mint leaves
In an empty cocktail shaker, add all ingredients and muddle together to release the oils from the mint. Then, add ice and shake until well chilled. Strain your smash cocktail into a glass filled with ice and garnish with a lemon peel and a fresh sprig of mint.
Frozen Spicy Mango Margaritas
We’re ending our list with an easy crowd pleaser! These frozen mango margaritas are a hostess’s dream for it’s simplicity and the ability to use whichever fresh fruit (or juice) you have on hand!
for four servings
- 2 cups mango juice
- 1 cup tequila blanco
- 1/4 cup triple sec
- 1/2 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup jalapeńo honey simple syrup
- 2-3 cups of ice
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until well mixed. Pour into a tajin rimmed cocktail glass and garnish with fresh cilantro or jalapeño slices.
