White Linen Cocktail

The name of the White Linen Cocktail alone sounds like the perfectly refreshing spring aperitif! With fresh cucumbers as the star of the show, it’s definitely worthy of a warm spring happy hour. Spring has sprung here for us in Florida and I’m currently taking out all things linen that’s been tucked away since the fall. So naturally, I thought this cocktail was more than appropriate to share with y’all!

I always have an English cucumber (or two) in the fridge for salads, wraps, etc. I used to not be the biggest cucumber fan until my mom introduced me to this variety. They’re incredibly crisp, have the tiniest seeds, and are the most flavorful. Which also makes them perfect for cocktails too! So let’s get to it!

What You’ll Need To Make a White Linen Cocktail

for one serving

  • 2 oz of cucumber, diced
  • 2 oz gin or vodka
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz elderflower liqueur
  • sparkling or soda water, chilled

How To Make It

In a cocktail shaker or glass, add the first four ingredients and muddle until the cucumber is well broken down and has released its juices. In your cocktail glass of choice (these rattan glasses are my favorite), fill with crushed ice and sliced lemon wheels and strain in your white linen cocktail. Top with chilled sparkling water and garnish with a cucumber slice.

There’s so many ways to garnish a cucumber slice so whichever way you prefer will do! I adore how light and refreshing this cocktail tastes. If you want to make it in a batch form, here’s how I would do it.

Want To Make a Batch of White Linen Cocktails?

  • one large English cucumber, diced
  • 8 oz gin or vodka
  • 4 oz lemon juice
  • 3 oz elderflower liqueur
  • 12 oz of sparkling water or club soda, chilled

The first thing I would do is take the diced cucumber and about 1/2 a cup of water and blend together. Depending on how powerful your blender is, you may need to add more water to create a cucumber juice. Once you’ve achieved that, strain the cucumber juice into a measuring cup. In a large pitcher, add the cucumber juice and the rest of the ingredients and stir well before serving!
