Strawberry Elderflower Tequila Sour

This strawberry elderflower tequila sour was inspired by the dreams of warmer spring weather and, of course, strawberry season! We are surrounded by strawberry farms here and I can’t help myself from picking at least 5 lbs of fresh strawberries every time we visit!

So naturally, strawberries just scream spring to me and what better way to use fresh strawberries than a homemade cocktail? Tequila Sours happen to be one of my most favorite cocktails and I love how easily they can adapt to different flavors and seasons. The combination of fresh strawberries and elderflower make this tequila sour the perfect sip to welcome the spring season!

What You’ll Need To Make a Strawberry Elderflower Tequila Sour

for one serving

  • 3 strawberries, stemmed and sliced
  • 2 oz reposado or blanco tequila
  • 1 oz lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3/4 oz elderflower liqueur
  • 1 egg white

How To Make It

Strawberry Elderflower Tequila Sour

Add the first four ingredients to a cocktail shaker and muddle until the strawberries are well broken down. Strain and add in the egg white before dry shaking (no ice) for about 15 seconds or until a nice foam is created.

Add ice and shake again until the sour is well chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and serve with a sliced strawberry for garnish!

If you’re wondering about the egg white, I absolutely promise you that you will NOT taste it. Egg whites have been used for decades in sours and fizz cocktails to create the classic foam and silky texture that these drinks are known for. You are more than welcomed to leave it out but I highly suggest you try it at least once.

Bar Tools and Glassware

These little coupe glasses from Williams-Sonoma are my newest favorite glassware! Lately, I’ve been finding most of my bar tools there for their durability and the fact that everything is high quality and reasonably priced.

I’ve had some tools and glasses for over three years (back when I started this blog) and everything has held up beautifully. Everything is so well made, I just make sure to hand wash them all to reduce wear and tear since they’re heavily used.
