Strawberry & Basil Margaritas

These Strawberry & Basil margaritas have always been a summer favorite of mine and figured they deserved their own place on the blog!

I created this recipe this time last year and it was definitely a fan favorite! This is my quintessential drink for summer and I’ll never turn down a delicious margarita!

For those hot and humid summer days, these Margaritas are a delicious way to stay cool! They are perfect to make in a large batch for a party or for a day on the boat! Everything is mixed in a blender and holds really well for hours if kept cold!

What You’ll Need To Make Strawberry & Basil Margaritas

For Two Servings:

1/2 Pint of Strawberries (Fresh or Frozen)

1/2 Cup of Blanco Tequila

1.5 oz of Cointreau or Orange Liqueur

1 Tablespoon of Honey

1 Cup of Ice

10 Basil Leaves

Juice of 2 Limes

Kosher Salt

Like all of my cocktail recipes, I don’t add any kind of simple syrup. I just use natural sweeteners (like honey) to take away any slight bitterness. Sweet drinks are not my jam but you can always incorporate it into your drink!

Instructions

Take the Kosher Salt and pour a pile into a small dish. Wet the rim of your desired drinking glass with lime juice and dip the glass into the salt pile until the rim is well coated.

In a blender, add the ice, strawberries, tequila, Cointreau, Basil, honey, and lime juice. Blend for at least 30 seconds until well incorporated. Add ice to drinking glass and pour up your Margarita. Garnish with a lime wedge and basil leaves.

Pro Tip: Zest your limes (before juicing) into the salt plate for a more festive and upscale salt rim!

If you’re making margaritas in advance, pour the Margarita mixture into a pitcher or carafe with a seal tight lid. Place in the fridge or in an iced cooler until your ready to enjoy!
