Strawberry Basil Popsicles

Ever since the month of June hit, the heat and humidity have been relentless here in Florida! I’m constantly trying to find ways to cope with the heat and trying to avoid heating up the kitchen as much as I can! During these hot afternoons, these Strawberry Basil Popsicles have been the perfect snack to beat the heat!

With only four ingredients, a blender, and a popsicle mold, these delicious popsicles are a healthy and naturally sweet homemade treat that everyone can enjoy!

I’ve really enjoyed creating popsicle recipes because it’s a fun treat I can make at home that’s not filled with sugars and made with natural ingredients (like these Coconut Lime Popsicles)!

So let’s get to it!

What You’ll Need To Make Strawberry Basil Popsicles

Recipe Serves 5-6
  • 10 strawberries – sliced
  • 8-10 basil leaves
  • 1/2 a lemon – juiced
  • 1.5 Tbs of honey

How To Make It

In a blender, add all the ingredients and blend until it becomes a smoothie-like consistency. Carefully pour the strawberry basil mixture into a popsicle mold (linking the one I use). I like to julienne some fresh basil and add it to the popsicle mixture for an extra basil surprise! Place your popsicle mold in the freezer and let it sit for about 4-6 hours. Make sure to not peek to be sure that the liquid freezes to the popsicle stick!

I love the natural sweetness of the ripe strawberries and honey paired with the floral, earthy basil. These Strawberry Basil Popsicles make a great snack to grab out of the freezer to enjoy immediately!

How To Store Your Popsicles

If you just leave your popsicles in the mold, they’ll only last a few days before they start to develop freezer burn and absorb those freezer smells. Here’s two ways you can store your popsicles to keep them fresh!

  1. Once you remove your popsicles from the mold, place your popsicles on a baking sheet or plate lined with parchment paper and refreeze until frozen solid (about 20 minutes). This will prevent the popsicles from sticking together. Afterwards, place them in an airtight container and keep in the freezer. This is a great option if you plan to enjoy them all within a couple fo days!
  2. For longer storage life, take the popsicles out of the mold and individually wrap them in plastic wrap and place them in an airtight container/bag. These will keep in the freezer for up to two weeks!
