A List of Five Cocktails to Sip on This Christmas

Pomegranate Thyme Spritz

Five Cocktails to Sip On This Christmas

The first cocktail I wanted to share was a batch cocktail recipe. It’s a great signature drink for a crowd because everything gets poured into a pitcher/beverage dispenser and it’s ready to go. Work smarter not harder my dear hostess!

Pomegranate Thyme Spritz

How To Make a Pomegranate Thyme Spritz

for six servings

  • 2 cups of pomegranate juice
  • 4 oz of elderflower liqueur
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 cup of vodka or gin
  • 1/4 cup honey thyme simple syrup
  • bottle of chilled Prosecco
  • thyme sprigs and pomegranate seeds, for garnish

Pour the first five ingredients and the pomegranate seeds into a beverage dispenser. Give a good stir and place an ice bucket (or two) beside it. Have chilled Prosecco at the ready for guests to help themselves. If serving in a large pitcher or bowl, go ahead and add in the Prosecco as well. Have fresh sprigs of thyme and extra pomegranate seeds close by for guests to garnish their cocktails!

Mistletoe Mule

This Mistletoe Mule is such a fun cocktail with all it’s garnishes and spicy ginger flavor with my homemade ginger and sage simple syrup! I just add everything to my trusty copper mug, give a quick stir, and enjoy!

How To Make a Mistletoe Mule

for one serving

  • 2 oz pure cranberry juice
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 3/4 oz sage & ginger simple syrup
  • 2 oz of ginger beer, to top
  • cranberries, sage leaf, and orange zest for garnish

Mexican Hot Chocolate

Five Cocktails to Sip On This Christmas

The holiday cocktail I’ve been itching to create all season, this grown up version of the classic winter drink is indulgent yet full of complex flavors. This is the perfect cocktail to cozy up by the fire and enjoy after Christmas Eve dinner. The spicy kick of cayenne paired with the chocolate and cinnamon is something special and definitely a must try!

How To Make Mexican Hot Chocolate

for two servings

  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 2 tbs cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 2 tbs of granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tbs vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tbs ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 4 oz of tequila (optional)
  • whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and cinnamon sticks for garnish
Mexican Hot Chocolate

In a small pot, add all ingredients except for the tequila. If you add the tequila while warming up the hot chocolate, the alcohol will cook out. Whisk the ingredients to combine with the heat on low until the mixture comes to a gentle boil. Take the pot off the heat and let the hot chocolate cool slightly. Add in the tequila into your mugs of choice (if using) and pour in the Mexican hot chocolate. Garnish with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and a cinnamon stick and enjoy!

Blackberry Prosecco Mule

Blackberry Prosecco Mule

This Blackberry Prosecco Mule was one of the earliest cocktails I created when I started my blog a few years ago and it’s still one I enjoy sipping this time of the year! Blackberries deserve all the love in the cocktail world and this recipe allows them to shine in this beautifully fizzy mule.

How To Make a Blackberry Prosecco Mule

for one serving

  • 8 blackberries
  • 2 mint leaves
  • 3/4 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • equal parts ginger beer and Prosecco, to top

In a mixing glass, add the first four ingredients and muddle to release the juices of the blackberries and mint. Strain the blackberry mixture into a glass filled with crushed ice. Top with equal parts ginger beer and Prosecco and garnish with fresh blackberries and mint. I love the beautiful hue this cocktail gives, making it a gorgeous winter cocktail!

Chai Espresso Martini

Five Cocktails to Sip On This Christmas

I hear lots of people say that the classic espresso martini is a *basic* cocktail and is deemed overrated by many. However, if you’re able to find a good espresso martini (think freshly brewed espresso and a chilled martini glass), I think they can be an excellent after dinner cocktail.

I wanted to give it a little holiday glam makeover by incorporating some more winter flavors with chai and a brown sugar rim. I’m usually not a fan of sweeter cocktails but this recipe is one of the few exceptions. It’s still very balanced but oh so delightfully delicious.

How To Make a Chai Espresso Martini

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz coffee liqueur
  • 3/4 oz coconut milk
  • 1 oz espresso, freshly brewed
  • 3/4 oz chai tea concentrate
  • brown sugar rim and coffee beans for garnish

Add the first five ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until well chilled. Take a chilled martini glass and wet the rim with espresso and rim with brown sugar. Pour up your Chai Espresso Martini and garnish with espresso beans.

I hope this list of five cocktails to sip on this Christmas inspires you to grab your cocktail shaker this season! The real question I want an answer to is: which recipe will you try first?

Cheers Y’all,
