Blackberry Bramble

One of my goals this year was to create more brunch worthy cocktails and this blackberry bramble has quickly become my new favorite!

Shaken with gin and a deliciously simple blackberry concentrate, this spring cocktail has earned it’s spot at my home bar.

A bramble is a relatively simple cocktail. Made with gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and your fruit of choice. It’s for all the gin lovers out there who want something refreshing with a touch of sweetness.

I, however, love to add my own spin in my brambles: greek yogurt!

I know, I know, it sounds crazy. But hear me out. The greek yogurt gives a slight tang (that plays wonderfully with the lemon) and a deliciously creamy consistency, making it the perfect brunch cocktail!

So let’s get to it!

What You’ll Need To Make a Blackberry Bramble

  • 2 oz Homemade Blackberry Concentrate
  • 2 oz Gin
  • 3/4 oz Lemon Juice
  • 2 Sprigs of Fresh Thyme Leaves, minced
  • 1 Tbs of Full Fat Plain Greek Yogurt

Homemade Blackberry Concentrate

blackberry concentrate

I whipped up this concentrate in just a few minutes as an experiment and it quickly became clear that this idea is a great way to add fresh fruit flavor to your cocktails! It can be stored in the fridge and voids the need of muddling while giving even more fruit flavor!

  • 1.5 cartons of blackberries (around 9 oz)
  • 1 Lemon, juiced
  • 2 Tbs Honey

On medium high heat, add all ingredients to a small saucepan and stir to combine. Once the blackberries are heated, smash with a potato masher (or a fork) until you get a jam-like consistency.

Carefully strain your blackberry mixture into a measuring cup to separate the seeds from the concentrate. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.

If you’re in a pinch for time, you can always switch out the concentrate and use a high quality blackberry jam! I would just add a little more lemon juice to break down the jam.

How to Make It

Blackberry Bramble

In a cocktail shaker, add all the ingredients with ice and shake for at least ten seconds. We’re focusing on breaking down the Greek yogurt with the lemon juice to create that velvety consistency.

Take a strainer and pour up your bramble in your cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish with blackberries, thyme leaves, and a lemon twist.

The color of this blackberry bramble is such a stunner. It’s the perfect spring brunch cocktail and I can’t wait to hear how much y’all love it!

Cheers Y’all,
